I think the idea of the community being actively involved to use video or multimedia to highlight the positives and the negatives on a particular subject is great.

If I could offer a little constructive criticism, I feel like some direction and bit of training is needed with the videos. This one looks like a personal video, which is ok, but not if you want to portay what an allotment is about or what it can offer people. How to use and hold a camera properly can make all the difference to the presentation, the use of a tripod etc and this will have the effect of a more polished look to the video. This helps people when watching them and keeps them glued to the screen.

You never know we could our own community multimedia oscars, how about that MCIN?

So I hope you dont take this the wrong way, keep it up.

Cheers

I think that the video is great as it shows a typical sunny day at the allotments!

As part of the East Manchester Community Reporters myself and Jessica Mayo can help people get to grips with the basics of filming, editing video and getting the finished film online.

BTW I think that the idea of a Community Media Oscars is a great idea.

the video was taken on a mobile phone and was only done to show other parents what their kids could be doing on a sunny day, having fun as well as learning about how food grows and there is no better way to get kids to eat their greens than let them grow their own, and tast a whole lot better, although i do understand your comment on film quality were are not after a bafta!
