My big night out at 'The Comedy Store Manchester' by Peter Walker

Now, I don't know what anyone else did last thursday night, but my dad and brother plus me of course, went along to
'The Comedy Store Manchester'. This was to witness two comic genius's live in action, on the very first night of
'The Manchester Comedy Festival 2008'. Which will be taking place for the next two weeks. Now we got there at 8pm half an hour before the first of the night's two acts would be performing. So I ordered a quick drink from the comedy store bar and then went in to take my seat, amongst the other 300 stong crowd who had tured up to see them. Then at 8-30pm the lights went down and out on the audience and the stage was lit up in bright lights. Then 'Rhod Gilbert' with his
'Award Winning Mince Pie Tour' appeared on stage. Now 'Rhod Gilbert' from wales, was none stop right from the beginning of his act with his quick pace fast talking humour. He was extremley funny with his honest views on every day life stories. Now this was not only my opion, but by the amount of laughter I heard and shared in, I feel everybody else seemed to enjoy his stand up routine, during the 1 hour in which he was on stage.
Then after the half an hour interval between 9-30pm to 10pm, the 2nd of tonight's comedians graced 'The Comedy Store' stage with his presence. Now this was in the form of 'Perrier Award Winning Comedian 2006 Phil Nichol' now 'Phil Nichol' was born in scotland and raised in canada. But last thursday night the 16th of October he was here in Manchester live on stage from 10pm - 11pm and I've got to say he was 'Absolutley Brilliant'. With his comedy/singing stand up routine. I would say to the point of tears of laughter, which seemed to flow right across the audience like a wave of commical emotion. He was simply pure class and delight all rolled into one, with his various impressions of famous people being taken off and included in his songs. He also told his own stories of commical experiences thourghout his life. Then after me and the rest of the 300 strong audience had stopped applauding, I even got to ask them some questions of my own. Such as, if they thought both comedians had been good and if people thought both were value for money. They were both meet with 'Big Fat Yes's' each time. I just hope the next two weeks of 'The Manchester Comedy Festival 2008', live upto last thursday nights two out standing perfomances.
