Get a Qualification in media!
People’s Voice Media is launching a FREE fifteen week accredited media training course in January 2010 at The Wells Centre on North Road, off Ashton New Road, in Clayton, M11 4NE.
The course lasts fifteen weeks and runs on Wednesday from 13th January at the Wells Centre, North Road off Ashton New Road in Clayton.
Again you can choose from morning sessions (10.00am-1.00pm) or afternoons (2.00pm-5.00pm).
The course is FREE and open to everyone over nineteen.
(If you are on benefits it would help if you could bring along evidence to the first session where we will be doing all the administration and dealing with any questions people might have).
The course is an introduction to media and we'll cover topics like equipment, internet searching, buying online, using a digital camera, recording sound and shooting and editing video.
You don’t need any formal qualifications but enthusiasm and basic computer skills are a good start!
People enrol on the course for a variety of reasons: For some it might be an opportunity to see if they are interested in working in media and it could be a "first step" into a new career, others are involved in community activities and see it as a way of promoting and documenting their activities whilst others are just doing it for their own interest!
There are no examinations but students need to complete three assignments. On successful completion they will get a level one certificate in iMedia and an opportunity to become a Community Reporter.
You can work on these in your own time but there will also be "drop in" sessions where you'll have access to equipment and support!
Get in touch today and book your place or just turn up on Wednesday to find out more!
