Edge Lane allotments picture 1985

Here are some pictures I took of my daughter’s in 1985 on Edge Lane Allotments. I was one of the original plot holders, when it re-opened in 1984, my daughters loved to play on the allotment as we lived in a street terrace and we had no garden for them to play in.

Fantastic to see the youngsters having a great time, It would be great to try and take the same shot in the same place on the allotments and ask about the memories. Feel free to come and have a walk round on the allotments any Sunday Morning.

I am sorry for my late reply; however my eldest daughter Rachel (the one in the white dress) has suffered with kidney failure most of her life and in 2005 she had a kidney transplant after four years on the waiting list for a new kidney. She now lives with her boyfriend in Sittingbourne, Kent; she was due to come up north for a family party in late September, but sadly she has now been diagnosed cancer (lymphoma) which has a 98 percent success rate, the cancer was due to side effects in using the anti-rejection drugs for her transplant.
She is responding well to the chemotherapy, of which she will be on for the next six months, I now spend a lot of my spare time travelling down top Kent giving support where needed,
When I do get some spare time I will pop down on see you guys.

Regards
Brian

Great pictures Brian.
I must admit that until this year I did not even know that Edge Lane Allotments existed!
