D-Day Celebrations at the Grange!

The bunting was out in force today at the Grange community centre in Beswick as the East Manchester Over-50's Forum, working with New East Manchester and 4CT, celebrated the 64th anniversary of D-Day.
Revellers reminisced as they were whisked back in time to wartime Britain. Old trolley bus tickets, wooden shoes, splitwood pegs, solid irons and GLEE soap boxes triggered many a memory, and walls lined with British flags recreated the patriotic mood. Party-goers danced the foxtrot and waltzed, sung war-time songs, and giggled at 1940's stand-up – largely, of course, at the expense of the Germans. All that rounded up with a roast dinner and tea and cake – some things never change.
