Community film opportunity about bogus callers

Fantastic opportunity to get involved in amateur film making Urbis is working in partnership in Greater Manchester Police Authority to produce a film around bogus callers. They'd like to recruit 5 -10 older people to attend workshops, with a group of younger people, for two weeks starting 28th July. This is a great opportunity for people to get involved with storyboarding, scripting, acting, filming and more!

For more information on the project please contact Kirstin Sillitoe on 0161 605 8200
or by emailing k.sillitoe@urbis.org.uk

More information about the workshops

First Week
will involve finding out more about the issue of bogus callers and how it impacts across all areas of society. Then using this information, we'll write the lyrics and record the music for the sound track to the film. On this element, we'll work with a professional sound artist.

The second week will involve some acting workshops, storyboarding of the film and shooting of the film. On this, we'll work with a professional film producer who will then take the footage away for editing.

Workshops for the project will start July 28th, and run approximately 10am - 3pm daily for 2 weeks (Monday - Friday).

Venues still to be decided.

I saw a programme on the tv not too long ago that was made along similar lines, that was in newton heath using local people. It was an excellent idea then and this looks to be something simlilar, have already heard back from Kirstin, not too sure about the acting bit, but I would like to be involved in some way.
