Beginners Workshop Edge Lane Allotments

The lesson started after brews and biscuits, we were separated into pairs to discuss our our plots and then to let the others know what our partners' aim and wishes were for their plots.

Next we went outside into the sunshine to get more practical lessons. Everyone asking questions about how to get rid of weeds and how to grow your brassicas.

Just as the clouds began to show it was time to go back indoors to discuss crop rotation, types of soil conditions and composting.

After the 3 hours we could have carried on much longer but although we covered lots of topics, there is so much to learn about gardening we hope there will be more workshops on offer

Our Older ladies and gents are at least over 50 and our youngest was 2 so the intergeneration of the younger and the older working together seems to be working well on Edge Lane Allotments.
